Pamela Gail Peters is an artist who works in charcoal, pastels, acrylics and oils. Alhough primarily self-taught she has studied with private instructors but also reads and studies works that inspire her and takes classes via the internet. A native North Carolinian she lived for many years in Miami, Florida and loves to paint seascpes, palm trees and other plants from that area. Her colors are vivid evoking memories of the tropics.

Portrait painting has always been an interest of Pamela's and at present she is studying with a portrait artist in Rutherfordton, NC. The portraits that she has worked on have been in oils, charcoals and pastels.

When initially learning to work in oils she studied the Carder Method and has incorporated various aspects of this method into her style of oil painting. Her painting "Magenta Morning" is a combination of the Carder Method and other techniques that she has learned through classes on the internet and reading and studying the works of artists who inspire her.

Along with the portraits that she is now working on, she also enjoys painting landscapes, seascapes, roosters, flowers, dancers and birds. She works mostly in acrylics and oils on these various projects. She is also in the process of learning to use the airbrush to add more dimensions to her work.
Pamela Gail Peters is a member of the Rutherford County Visual Artists Guild appearing most recently in their juried show, Celebration of the Arts 2009. She has also had a one woman show at the Norris Library and in the spring will be hving a show with two other artists at the Norris Library for two months, the show will then move to the Rutherford County Library for two months. Her work is also being shown at the Visual Arts Center in Downtown Rutherfordton, NC.
